The following assemble and have votes in a general elective chapter:
- In the election of a Master of the Order:
- ex-Masters of the Order;
- all priors provincial, without prejudice to n. 258;
- two brothers from any province, namely the diffinitor of the general chapter and the associate of the diffinitor; and three brothers from provinces having at least four hundred professed religious, namely the diffinitor, the associate of the diffinitor and the provincial associate.
- In matters to be dealt with after the election of the Master:
- the newly elected Master of the Order;
- ex-Masters of the Order;
- individual prior provincials, without prejudice to n. 258;
- definitors.
- The former provincials and the definitors who have been elected have the right to speak but not to decide in matters of decision.
