The following assemble and have votes in a general elective chapter: 

  1. In the election of a Master of the Order:
    1. ex-Masters of the Order;
    2. all priors provincial, without prejudice to n. 258;
    3. two brothers from any province, namely the diffinitor of the general chapter and the associate of the diffinitor; and three brothers from provinces having at least four hundred professed religious, namely the diffinitor, the associate of the diffinitor and the provincial associate.
  2. In matters to be dealt with after the election of the Master:
    1. the newly elected Master of the Order;
    2. ex-Masters of the Order;
    3. individual prior provincials, without prejudice to n. 258;
    4. definitors.
  3. The former provincials and the definitors who have been elected have the right to speak but not to decide in matters of decision.
