Simple (temporary) vows cease:
- when the time for which they were made or renewed has elapsed;
- by an indult to leave the Order, granted by the Master of the Order with the consent of his council (see CCL 688)
- by dismissal from the Order according to common law (CCL, nn. 694-704).
